Getting to Kalkan

Kalkan is approximately a 1 hour, 40 minute drive from Dalaman Airport (79 miles). The two main options for getting to Kalkan are…

Private Transfer

There are numerous businesses in Kalkan (and in Dalaman) that offer ‘Private Transfer’ services. They all tend to be very competitive. We use Volume Travel who work closely with Zeki (our Site Manager) to organise bookings and a ‘meet and greet’ service.
Transfers are very straight forward – guests are met by the driver immediately outside the airport entrance / exit. The driver will be holding a sign with your name clearly displayed and will take you to the transfer vehicle usually parked just a few metres away. Refreshments are usually provided during the journey.
The journey is pleasant with some lovely scenery to enjoy and provides some time to relax and recover from your flight. Shortly before arriving in Kalkan the driver will contact Zeki who will meet you at the apartment to welcome you and provide a brief introduction to the Apartment.

We are happy to arrange transfers on behalf of guests for no additional cost.

Car Hire

The majority of visitors to Kalkan choose not to hire a car as there are plenty of things to explore within walking distance, and public transport and taxis are readily available. However, there are many places of interest situated around Kalkan and hiring a car can open up a different experience and help make the most of Kalkan and the surrounding area. The journey is surprisingly straight forward to navigate with the main D400 road running from Dalaman to Kalkan.
As with private transfers, there are plenty of car hire services available. We use Dalaman Car Rental (also known as ‘Milan Rent A Car’ & ‘Pandora Car Hire’) – we have an arrangement with them for guests to receive a discount if they explain they are staying at ‘Jasmine Apartment Kalkan’ and provide my name (Graeme Nicholson) – see their contact details below.
Prices vary according to the size of car, the duration of hire, the type of insurance taken out and the time of year. Hiring a car for a week tends to be around the same price as a private transfer by car. Fuel is inexpensive – the cost of fuel to Kalkan is approximately 50 lira (£6.70).

If you choose to hire a car we can provide guests with some general information about driving in Turkey along with detailed directions to Jasmine Apartment.
